| W. Bourke Harris
is the president and CEO of Christie Constructors, Inc., a privately
held contracting firm in Richmond, California that has specialized
in structural steelwork for more than three decades. The company
is certified by the American Institute of Steel Construction,
Inc. as a Certified Advanced Steel Erector and employs a highly
talented and skilled team of managers and ironworkers.
Prior to joining the firm of Christie Constructors, Inc.
in 1974, Mr. Harris served as operations manager for Western
Pacific Erectors, a division of Willamette Western Corporation.
In this capacity, Mr. Harris managed the construction of
the following projects: Auburn Foresthill Bridge (deck truss
cantilever) in Auburn, California; the erection of 21,000
tons of trapezoidal box girders for the East and West Fremont
Interchanges in Portland, Oregon; the launching of the Kenai
River Bridge in Kenai, AK; the Camas Prairie Railroad Bridge
Raise and new Lift Span in Lewiston, Idaho; the Oahu Stadium
in Hawaii; the Warm Springs Creek bridge (deck truss cantilever)
in Healdsburg, California; and the Mississippi River Bridge
in Clinton, Iowa.
His earlier experience also includes working as a field engineer
for Murphy Pacific Corp., located in Emeryville, Calif., on
the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge, the San Diego-Coronado Bridge,
the Queen's Bridge in Long Beach, Calif., the Bryte Bend Bridge
in Sacramento, Calif. and other projects.
Mr. Harris, who recently completed his service as a board member of the
National Erectors Association The Association of Union
Constructors, earned his master's of science in civil engineering,
with an emphasis on construction management, at Stanford University
and his bachelor's of science in civil engineering at San
Jose State University. Prior to entering the university, Mr.
Harris served in the U.S. Coast Guard.
